RISING FROM DUST

Annabeth Cross can think of nothing better than escaping her London home and finding a place where she can be truly happy, a place where she can be herself. Being eighteen, the pressure to marry has never been higher, but batting her eyes at the most eligible bachelor in town is last thing on Annabeth's mind. Her overbearing parents think otherwise as finding a respectable suitor is the way of life under the rule of the eighteenth-century British Empire. Annabeth would agree, if it weren't for the fact that the original British Empire fell over five hundred years ago.

 

She now lives in a mere reincarnation of the historic empire rebuilt from the pages of history by the Masters, a band of leaders that govern the world using the power of rings made from the Ark of the Covenant to aid their rule. Her sense of duty coupled with the underlying fear of her father is the only thing holding Annabeth back from striking out on her own, but when her parents snap and arrange a marriage between herself and an abusive man, she leaves everything she's ever known behind for the adventure she's always dreamed of.

 

When Annabeth's illusions of an independent life are shattered and she finds herself struggling to survive, she happens across the Salvatore, a rebel army fighting to end the Masters' corruptive rule. Annabeth soon is forced to join their ranks and become a beacon of hope when she has none and a leader when she is blind to her own capabilities. She soon becomes used to this fast paced way of life finding the thrill, love, and loyalty that she once thought never existed. When the secrets and betrayals threaten to rip apart everything she holds dear, it will take all Annabeth has to find the strength to take down the Masters and protect the ones she loves, even if it means sacrificing the one thing she values most, her life.
