R.M. Grant's biography

R.M. Grant, known to friends and family as Rachel, lives in Roswell, GA and currently works as an EMT at Grady Emergency Medical Services in Atlanta. She graduated from the University of Georgia cum laude in May 2020 with a degree in Biology and a minor in chemistry. She was a collegiate soccer player and rower. Though she has always aspired to be a doctor, her passion for reading and subsequently writing has led her to create The Rising series in her spare time.

She started writing her first book her sophomore year of high school when she came up with a storyline she just couldn't forget. Many, many drafts later, Rising from Dust was born. Intent on sharing her story with the world, she self-published her first novel through Kindle Direct Publishing services with Amazon. She writes, edits, formats, and creates the covers of all her works. She focuses on writing stories about characters that are relatable, resilient, and above all fighters. No one starts out as a hero with all the answers. It's a journey of self-reflection and setbacks. She emphasizes the real, often overlooked, effects of trauma, incorporating the real life struggles of dealing with mental health in her work. As much as it is a fictitious story, it is also a retelling of her own battle with depression and self-confidence.

She spends most of her time reading romantic fantasy novels and cuddling with her adorable cat, George Bailey. Her favorite authors are Sarah J. Maas and Nalini Singh, though her first love was Pride and Prejudice and Jane Austen's amazing works. She is an old soul, crocheting blankets and doing needlepoint in her spare time.
